Membership-Join Us!
 

The main Cold Spring PTA membership drive is held in September when every family is sent a customer membership form and a stamped return envelope. Using this method, we've been able to maintain at least 80% participation and drastically reduced directory errors and volunteer effort.  Our PTA dues in the 2006-7 school year are $20 and membership includes a coveted school directory.

For those interested in our drive guidelines, here is the membership section of our bylaws:
 

Article V: Membership and Dues 

  • Section 1. Every individual who is a member of this local PTA is, by virtue of that fact, a member of the National PTA and of the Maryland PTA by which this local PTA is chartered, and is entitled to all the benefits of such membership.
  • Section 2. Membership in this local PTA shall be made available by this local PTA, without regard to race, color, creed, or national origin, under such rules and regulations, not in conflict with the provisions of the National PTA Bylaws or the Maryland bylaws, as may be prescribed in the bylaws of this local PTA, to any individual who subscribes to the Purposes and basic policies of the National PTA.
  • Section 3. Each local PTA shall conduct an annual membership campaign but shall continue to admit individuals to membership at any time.
  • Section 4. Each member of a local PTA shall pay such annual dues (including local, state, and national) as may be prescribed by the organization. The amount of the state portion of each member's dues shall be one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per annum. The national portion of each member's dues shall be as recommended by the board of directors and approved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the voting body at the National PTA Annual Convention. Each local PTA shall remit the state and national portion of the dues to reach the Maryland PTA office by the dates designated by the Maryland PTA.
  • Section 5. Each member of this local PTA shall pay annual dues of an amount to be determined annually by the executive board. The amount of such annual dues shall include the portion payable to the Maryland PTA and the portion payable to the National PTA.

  • Community Service Car Wash and Bake Sale:
    Saturday, May 2 (rain date May 3), 10 am- 2 pm. Proceeds from this event benefit the Stepping Stones shelter in Rockville.

    Wednesday, June 10, 10 am-2:15 pm.
    *Parent Drivers will be needed!*
  • End of year picnic 6pm – 8pm:
    June 11th
  • Fifth Grade Graduation at Richard Montgomery High School:
    Monday, June 15, 7:00 pm
